The results from our 2011 Conference Planning survey are in!
Here is a summary:
- 75 respondents completed the survey; 79 started the survey.
On question #1, What tracks will you likely attend?
- 59.5% responded "Training/End User"
- 55.7% responded "Developer/Technical"
- 40.5% responded "Partnerships/Consortial"
- 6.3% responded "Other" - most of these Other responses mentioned sysadmin/migration topics
For question, #2, Would you prefer more track time or more general conference event time?
- 53.2% responded "a 50/50 split between these types of events"
- 40.5% responded "more track time (program sessions)"
For question #3, What are the major reasons for attending the 2011 EG Conference?
- 77.9% responded "information gathering"
- 71.4% responded "gain technical expertise"
- 70.1% responded "training and implementation practices"
- 59.7% responded "develop partnerships"
- 39.0% responded "consortium planning and information"
- 26.0% responded "software developer hackfest"
- 23.4% responded "vendor information"
- 5.2% responded "other" with most of these "other responses" mentioning the ability to network with others
For question #4, What after hours activities would you most be interested in?
- 64.5% responded "dine arounds"
- 59.2% responded "local library tours"
- 48.7% responded "pub crawls"
- 40.8% responded "trips to local attractions/landmarks"
- 19.7% responded "charitable endeavors"
- 5.3% responded "other" with most of these "other" responses focusing on developer/end user informal interaction

- 55.8% responded "currently on a live Evergreen system"
- 24.7% responded "migrating to a live Evergreen system within 12 months"
- 19.5% responded "involved in providing paid support or services for Evergreen"
- 18.2% responded "involved in the Evergreen community but not selling services"
- 9.1% responded "investigating Evergreen as a potential solution"

- 17.1% responded "Other" with "other" including training, consulting, project coordination, and other support roles
