PINES Staff Changes

This is an exciting time for the GPLS/PINES Staff. More staff means more resources to serve PINES libraries. We look forward to marking many things off our "to do" list with the addition of three new staff members.

We reluctantly bid farewell to Sally Murphy today, along with our great appreciation for all she has done for PINES and GPLS. We wish Murph success and happiness in her new endeavors, and are delighted that she will continue to contribute documentation and technical writing to PINES/Evergreen.

We are pleased to announce that Emily Almond will join GPLS on October 13 as PINES Software Development Manager. Emily is currently employed as a Project Manager at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and has held positions at the AJC in library services and at Emory University Library as Information Commons Librarian.

We are also pleased to announce that Dawn Dale will join GPLS on October 1 as PINES HelpDesk Assistant. Most of you will recognize Dawn's name. She is currently employed at the Hall County Library System and has been very active in the PINES community for several years. We thank the Hall County Library System for allowing us to rob them of a valuable member of their staff. We know that she will be a tremendous asset to the PINES community statewide.

Elaine Hardy will become a permanent full time member of the PINES Team. Elaine has served for several years as the GPLS Library Services Manager. As the PINES Special Projects Manager, she will continue in her role as the database cleanup coordinator and will work closely with acquisitions development as well as other projects.

Further staff changes are forthcoming. We will announce these as soon as possible.
