Each ISBN is a 10- or 13-digit number. Thirteen digit ISBNs must begin with either 978 or 979. When entering an ISBN, do not use hyphens, periods, or spaces often found on print materials.
You can use the 020 field for canceled ISBNs (ǂz) and invalid ISBNs (ǂv), as well as current ISBNs (ǂa).
