Formatting Long Numbers in Excel
Excel does not know how to handle the long numbers in PINES barcodes, and will shorten them in scientific notation:
Scientific Notation
To correct this:
- Right-click on the column header containing the barcodes.
- Choose Format Cells…
- Navigate to the Number tab
- Change the Category to Number
- Change the Decimal Places to 0
- Click OK
The barcodes will now appear correctly:

If you need to do this frequently, you may wish to create an Excel Macro.
